What did we do today?
- We had a special visitor that writes books. She is from Saskatoon and she has written a book which is now in our library called Polly Diamond and the Magic Book. She told us how she writes books. First she develops an idea and does some research. Then she creates a storyboard with her ideas. Sometimes she swaps the events to make the storyboard. Then she interviews her characters. Then she writes and has many edits done to it.
- In daily 5, we started our Daily 5 routine. Each group got their own checklist of what they needed to do. We worked on word work, our journals, Raz Kids or worked with the teacher.
- In social studies, we continued to research our Alberta region. Some of us finished our rough copy and are starting our good copy. To research info, we were also allowed to use a digital textbook.
- In math, the grade 3's played a place value banker game while the Grade 4's learned sorting strategies from Ms. Jones.
