What did we do today?
  • Before and after gym, the grade 3s finished their work on repeated addition while the grade 4s learned about cross multiplication.  Some of them started to answer questions from a math text if they had a good understanding.
  • In gym, we played four square outside.  It is a game we can play outside for recess.  You try to bounce a ball in someone's square to get a player out.
  • We had our Remembrance Day assembly.  Students who were Brownies and Guides put flowers on a wreath.
  • After the assembly, we played an interactive game called Over the Top, where we were a soldier during World War I.  We had to make decisions that would determine what would happen to us. http://www.warmuseum.ca/overthetop/
  • In language arts, we finished our Over the Top game, then we read a true story called A Bear in War.  It was about a girl who got a teddy bear.  It is told from the point of view of the bear.  Her father was sent to war during World War I.
  • In Daily 5, some of us worked on finishing our spooky stories while others did a reading activity.
  • At the end of the day in social studies, we had to finish our fossil observations.  If we finished that and had it checked by a teacher, we could decorate the cover of our field journals.
