February 7, 2018- Walking in the science wonderland

Agenda:
  • Read 20 min
  • Practice your spelling words, spelling test this Friday
  • Yoga residency all this week- wear clothes you can do yoga in
  • Bring in a rock from home that is no bigger than your fist to create a pet rock tomorrow
  • Coffin Cares assembly Monday
The Top Three Things We Learned and Did Today:
  • In science, we were introduced to the pet rock project.  Ms. Jones read a book called Everyone Needs a Rock.  We also came up with ideas of where we find rocks and what we use them for.
  • In music, we performed our plays for foley art.  We got to choose a backdrop for our play and Mr. O'Reilly filmed our skits so that he can see if our music beats match the acting.
  • The grade 5 and 6 students presented their science fair projects to the school.  Things we learned from their experiments were: the best toothpaste to whiten your teeth is Crest because it has blue covarine, which has a lot of fluoride; Huggies are the best diapers to prevent leaks because they absorb the most water and they take the longest time to leak; watering a plant every five days one tablespoon allowed the best growth of a basil plant.
What do we have to do next?
We need to make sure we have a rock here tomorrow to make our pet rocks.
