February 26, 2018- Dolphins, emojis and cats, oh my!

Agenda:
  • Read 20 min
  • Spelling words have been sent home- please study for test Friday
  • It is Room 4's turn to host treat day tomorrow!  It would be very much appreciated if each family could supply 24-36 treats to sell to all of the students at recess that day.  Some suggestions for treats are: muffins, pretzels, rice cakes, cookies, brownies, rice krispie squares, popcorn. Non-food treats are also appreciated, such as stickers or pencils.
  • Please save the dates! We will be having field trips March 6th (Mount Royal) and 21st (the Glenbow).  Please check your CBE accounts for fees for field trips.
The Top Three Things We Learned and Did Today:
  • In math, group A had to complete multiplication tasks that helped them practice their basic facts.  Group B and C were introduced to the lattice method of multiplication and practiced a few problems with two digit and one digit numbers.  If we were finished, we had to create our mogul ski using the correct measurement of 175cm.
  • In gym, the climber was set up.  We now have seven centers to complete in our gymnastic unit.  We will be doing this all week so we need to remember to wear loose clothes to move around in.
  • At the end of the day in art, we went on a website called Art Hub for Kids.  It is a drawing website.  As a class, we first tried drawing a pug using the video's instructions.  Afterward we were allowed to draw a picture of our choice.  We tried drawing dolphins, emojis, Star Wars characters and cats.
