January 12, 2018- Performing Puppets Power Half Hour

Agenda:
  • Homework: Read 20 min, bell ringer due
  • Please make sure you are dressed for the weather tomorrow, we will be doing a short outdoor activity tomorrow for Fresh Air Friday
The Top Three Things We Learned and Did Today:
  • In science, we started to perform our shadow puppet plays.  They talked about opaque, transparent and translucent.  We found out shadow puppets were first made in China and that straws look broken in water due to refraction.
  • In our math block, Mr. O told us about the times tables.  We completed our work about multiplying by 0,1 and 10 and started questions about skip counting.
  • Today in daily 5, we learned more about similes and metaphors and we were given a worksheet to make different similes and metaphors.  Examples we made are: The fence was as rickety as an old construction site.  The clerk was as mean as Homer Simpson's boss Mr. Burns.  The fish was as slippery as frozen and polished ice.
What do we need to do next?
We need to finish our puppet plays by Monday!
