September 6, 2018- Whispering Math

Agenda:
  • Fresh Air Friday on Friday- please dress for the weather that day (hat, sunscreen, wear layers, bring water bottle and extra snack).  Bring a "used" treasure that you can fit in a paper bag for our treasure hunt. It must be something small and something you are willing to give away as a treasure for someone else to find.
  • Are You Ready forms sent home today-due back Tuesday September 11
  • Welcome back potluck BBQ form sent home- due back Wednesday September 12
  • Grade 4 students can bring their word dictionaries back to school
What did we do today?
  • We played a game in the Whispering Woods where we were given an animal and a sound and then we had to find others that were the same by listening to sounds.
  • We continued to work on our journals and our rockfish.
  • The school had our first assembly where we sang O'Canada and The school song.
  • We decided on class jobs for the year.  We made more jobs this year, so we will all have responsibilities!
  • In math, we had to show what we know when solving math problems and we worked on our All About Me (using math).

Note about Pick up and Drop off doors for Arrival and Dismissal:

We are working hard to establish routines with our students. One routine we could use parent help with is our dismissal routine of students going out their classroom’s assigned door. This is the door that we also enter the school when we come to school. If parents are meeting students at the end of the day, we ask that parents meet students outside their dismissal door or establish a meeting spot somewhere outside. We are hoping our main door will become a door used only when parents are picking students up for appointments or when they have business in the office. Thank you for your help establishing this new routine with our students.
