September 11, 2018- Our first library class was today!

Agenda:
  • handwriting due tomorrow
  • Are You Ready forms sent home today-due back asap
  • School Council Meeting @ 7:00pm tonight
  • Welcome back potluck BBQ form sent home- due tomorrow
  • Run Club is back! Starting tomorrow Mrs. Saunders and Mrs. Armour and any students between grade 1 - 6 are welcome to sign up. We will be running every Wednesday around the "Terry Fox loop" (one km). We will try and increase our stamina each week to get ready for the Terry Fox whole school run on Friday, September 28th. We will meet between 12:00-12:10 at the picnic tables with our lunches (time to go to the washroom and get a drink) to sign in and start running. We will eat together AFTER we run. We will stop running by 12:40 to make sure everyone has a chance to eat and cool down before the bell. Recording our laps will be a fun motivator to see how far we can run altogether.
What are the top three things we did today?
  • In social studies, we discussed the landforms found in Alberta and we started to colour the Alberta coat of arms.
  • We had our first library exchange class.  We were able to take out two books.
  • We had another journal prompt today asking us to tell Ms. Jones one thing we wished she knew.  For homework tonight, we are to discuss ideas with our parents so that we can write about them with details tomorrow.
Note about Pick up and Drop off doors for Arrival and Dismissal:

We are working hard to establish routines with our students. One routine we could use parent help with is our dismissal routine of students going out their classroom’s assigned door. This is the door that we also enter the school when we come to school. If parents are meeting students at the end of the day, we ask that parents meet students outside their dismissal door or establish a meeting spot somewhere outside. We are hoping our main door will become a door used only when parents are picking students up for appointments or when they have business in the office. Thank you for your help establishing this new routine with our students.
