What did we do today?
  • We went on a field trip today!  We met our guides Evan and Kevin.  Then we had a tour of the 4th and 5th floor.  Then we went to a classroom where we had to identify the type of energy makes the sound and how we changed the pitch.  We learned about pitch which is the speed of the vibration, volume is controlled by how hard or soft you play the instrument and speed. Instruments we tried were the hurdy gurdy, the piano, electric base guitar, the spoons, a violin and a microphone.  After lunch, we toured the 2nd and 3rd floor.  There were these booths where you could sing songs.  We saw pictures and artifacts from different Canadian artists. We heard the Kimball Theatre Organ be played.  Evan played all these movie themes.  The organ had 600 pipes!
  • In the sky bridge there is a solar powered instrument hanging from the ceiling!  The instrument was made from destroyed pianos from the 2013 flood.
